The toddler became an internet sensation when his father filmed him chipping in three balls into a box at home.
The video received over 3 million in the less than two weeks since it was posted and got the attention of the VVV-Venlo, the local professional team in the Netherlands that the toddler’s grandfather once played for.
Baerke was in invited for a trial at VVV and impressed the team enough to have them sign him to a 10-year initial contract. The boy celebrated the contract with a glass of orange juice.
I hope he likes his home town: He’ll be stuck with that team at least until he’s 11. It sounds like he’s already off to a hopeful career before he’s 2. We might remember this boy if we continues to build his legacy.
