A-Rod was openly flirting with a blonde woman sitting near the New York Yankees dugout after he was benched late in Game 1 against the Tigers, but it went far beyond that when he threw a baseball asking two female fans for their number.
The highest paid Yankee is still dominating the headlines, even through there was nothing to report on Alex Rodriguez in Major League Baseball. The pro baseball player was slammed by the New York Post this week that claimed he was openly flirting with two female fans. Some reports are calling the behavior "very unprofessional."
A tipster, who witnessed the entire episode, took the story and went to the Post, citing this flirtation as one of the reasons that A-Rod was distracted during the game and therefore caused the loss.
"Alex was holding a pen and wrote a note on a ball which was thrown at the women by a ball boy. The girls, who had already caught two balls, seemed bemused at first and tried to hand the ball to another fan, but other fans noticed the note on it and yelled at them to read it. The note asked them to write their phone numbers on the ball and throw it back,'' the witness said.
So, who was this woman he was flirting with?
The Daily Mail has identified her as Kyna Treacy, a bikini model and designer from Australia. While the Daily Mail originally reported Treacy was 33 years old, her Twitter account shows age 27.
In fact, Treacy is a former Bondi Beach girl who started her own swimwear line, Kini Bikini, which specializes in tiny crocheted suits. Her online business profile says she aims to create swimwear "for the girl who desires something sexy and individual."
It also isn't known whether or not she agreed to A-Rod's reported request, though the benched Yankees third baseman is on the verge of having a lot of free time in his future. The Yankees trail the Detroit Tigers three games to none heading into Wednesday's Game 4.
With A-Rod riding the pine for the second straight night, he could sure use some good company.
