Taking on a completely different personality then his famous pro bowling father Dick Weber, Pete is being criticized after winning the PBA’s biggest tournament, the US Open, on Sunday for his over exuberant celebration and gesture towards critics.

Pete has always been known as a rebellious personality, wearing sunglasses while bowling and sometime’s giving a crutch chop gesture when getting a strike, and has never been afraid to speak his mind while on the Pro Bowler’s Tour.

After winning his 5th US Open Championship, he let his critics and PBA fans have it. Rolling a needed strike with his last ball to clinch the victory, he quickly went into a loud fist pumping tirade that left his wife covering her eyes.

Upon winning he started fist pumping and shouting at the crowd in attendance. Mike Fagan, Weber’s opponent said that Pete probably alienated what little fans the PBA had with his subsequent celebration.

As for Weber who becomes the first ever five time US Open champion, he had a an additional message for his critics during an interview, giving a double bird solute to them.

Likely, because of his explosive personality, Weber was passed over for Player of the Year honors in 1987, even though he won the most tournaments and was at the top of the earning’s list for the year.
