A missing San Francisco Giants fan who is homeless was found after going missing after a game this month. The man known as Billy attended every game for several years until earlier this month when he suddenly stopped. Billy had become known and befriended by the teams players, coaches and managers, who became concerned when Billy went missing.

Billy could always be seen outside of the players and coaches entrance at ATandamp;T park in San Francisco. Some players would stop to give him money or tickets while one security guard let Billy stay in his home. Billy would also follow the team somehow to away games in Los Angeles and San Diego.

The last time Billy was seen was at a game in San Diego on July 31st. After his absence from games was reported, San Francisco Police filed a missing person’s report and the Giants projected his photo on the scoreboard seeking clues to his whereabouts.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy told NPR’s All Things Considered that he was worried, “hoping to get some good news.”

However, out of nowhere Billy was seen at a game against the Dodgers in L.A. on Tuesday night. Billy was leaning against a light post outside the players’ entrance at Dodger’s stadium. “I’m fine,” he said. “I’m just broke right now.”

When he was sighted, he had a hand written cardboard sign that read, “Homeless. Hungry. Can you help please? God bless you.” Billy was also dawning his 2010 Giants World Championship cap.

He said he moved to Los Angeles in August, because “I just decided it was time. I was up there (in San Francisco) for three years, and now I’m down here.” He said he knew people were looking for him and tried to get word that he was OK, but he was not aware of the missing person’s report. He said he is living on the street, with no desire to sleep in a homeless shelter.
