The Newest iPhone 5 Rumors Have It Set To Launch In October

According to the newest rumors on the iPhone 5, it will launch in early October. Supposedly, an AT&T vice president had told employees to expect business to soar soon. “Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35 to 50 days, so prepare your teams accordingly,” was the message, CNET said.

The 35 to five-day warning would mean some time in the first half of October. The most-recent rumors had it launching in September as Apple has released new iPods around that time when the iPhone 5 is launched. Rumors have both mobile devices releasing simultaneously.

The iPhone launch is expected to be handled by AT&T and Verizon Wireless at the same time, which would be a first. AT&T had an exclusive on Apple’s best seller for several seasons. Apple has since branched out to include other carriers.

Another rumor circulating of the iPhone is it will support access to both CDMA and GSM networks, allowing it to operate in most countries around the world, a source said. An unidentified app developer reportedly pulled information from registration logs that show two distinct device network codes (MNC) / mobile country codes (MCC). These codes, which are believed to have been entered by testers using Apple’s upcoming operating system iOS 5, are unique mobile network identifiers belonging to Verizon and AT&T.

The source concluded that a dual-mode phone would suggest that the iPhone 5 would not support LTE. However, Apple’s latest developer builds for iOS 5 contain a snippet of code that mentions LTE, according to other sources, prompting speculation that the company may be testing 4G internally.
