Apples founder, Steve Jobs died Wednesday at the age of 56. The famous CEO was known as a visionary who developed a company that is now the leader in new technological advances among mobiles phones and computers. While this is a tragic event, many are not surprised by his passing. For quite some time now he has been fighting cancer.

Jobs indicated to the world that something was wrong when he recently stepped down as CEO of Apple. In 2009, he had a secret liver transplant in Tennessee during a six-month medical leave of absence. His last leave of absence came in January just months before he stepped down in August.

While the company is on top, Jobs spent his entire life trying to accomplish this goal. It all started in 1976 inside a garage of a home that belonged to his parents. Steve Wozniak helped him build the first Apple computer.

Macintosh launched the first PC in 1984. Then came a 10 year hiatus where Jobs took part in other endeavors. In 1996, Jobs recommitted to Apple, which brought about new technology that would change the world.

It wasn’t long after that when the world saw his vision, and took part of a new gadget that would change the industry, now known as the iPod. This led to other inventions such as iTunes, the App Store, iPod Shuffle, iPad, and the popular iPhone. Today Apple operates more than 300 retail stores in 11 countries.

“If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on,” a quote Jobs lived up to.
