Zuckerberg De-Friended - A lawyer in Indianapolis said Facebook has de-friended him because of his name. The bankruptcy attorney has the same name as social media site’s co-founder, which happens to be Mark Zuckerberg. In addition, he is facing some serious allegations from the online network.
Facebook is accusing Mark S. Zuckerberg of identity fraud. They pulled his account Monday. In fact, the attorney said this isn’t the first time he’s had a run-in with the social networking website.
In 2009, the media site turned down a request for an account with Zuckerberg attempting to prove his identity with copies of his driver’s license, birth certificate and Indianapolis Bar Association license.
“I hope it’s all just a misunderstanding on their part,” he said.
“All my friends are upset with me because they think I de-friended them,” said Zuckerberg, who claims a reputation as a national authority on consumer bankruptcy and home foreclosures. “I’ve had to do a lot of explaining.”
In Facebook’s defense, they do have a lot of fake accounts from people trying to pretend to be someone they’re not. For example, there used to be several listings on the social network for Mark Zuckerberg. However, only one was the real person, the others were fake.
There are people also creating accounts using celebrity names. It happened after Sandra Bullock announced her divorce from Jesse James. People were pretending to be the Hollywood star online.
