Billy Graham - Billy Graham is responding well to antibiotics and remains in the hospital with pneumonia. A statement from Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, says the 93-year-old Christian leader was able to stand and walk Friday during a physical therapy session.

Dr. Mark Hellreich, a pulmonologist treating the evangelist, says he’s making good clinical progress and looks better since treatment began.

Graham has suffered from several ailments in recent years. He was admitted to the hospital Wednesday night after suffering from congestion, a cough and a slight fever that was later diagnosed as pneumonia.

Graham was able to take meals on Friday sitting in a chair while talking with hospital staff. No discharge date has been set.

The Reverend was visited Thursday by his pastor, the Rev. Don Wilton, who prayed with him and read from St. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

Graham is alert and talking with hospital workers, and has also been visited by his daughter, Gigi.

In May, he spent five days in the hospital during a bout with pneumonia.

Graham rarely appears in public, but recently published his 30th book, in which he reflects on aging and mortality.
