It only takes one Iowa chef to be fined for licking toads at a Japanese steak house.

Iowa chef fined for licking toads in his restaurant. Iowa chef Christopher Turla was fined $335 for licking toads where he is employed. Turla was fined immediately after the chef was caught licking toads in the kitchen of the Osaka Japanese Steak House.

Turla was hoping for a few laughs. However, instead he received a hefty fine after a health inspector viewed a video of the chef with two small toads on a kitchen prep table at the restaurant Osaka. He kisses the toads a few times, licks them, then stuffs them in his mouth.

The Scott County Health Department was not amused. "Toads carry several diseases," stated Food inspector Lindsay Gorishek.
Restaurant owner Yidi When says he'll pay the ticket. He also says Turla is just a funny guy who needs some more training about restaurant sanitation.

The Davenport Iowa Steak House is known for putting on a show at its hibachi tables. "It's one of the most bizarre cases I've ever seen," stated Scott County Health Inspector Lindsay Gorishek. "He was putting the frogs in his mouth. He was licking them and kissing them. He was letting them jump around on the food prep table."
