Man Arrested 3 Miles In Reverse. A man in Glendale, Calif. was arrested for driving 3 miles in reverse. Police say he was driving 30 mph with his right arm on the passenger seat and his head turned.
An off-duty cop spotted the man, identified as Gurgen Gukasyan. “This is just sheer disregard for public safety,” Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said in a statement. “It appears that he did want to take that vehicle and have some fun with it.”
Gukasyan, 49, was reportedly arrested on misdemeanor reckless driving charges. No one was injured and he was not, police say, under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
He reportedly told police he was driving to a friend’s home.
But this isn’t the first time Gukasyan has allegedly made the road his playground.
He was also arrested in December after he allegedly drove his car onto Verdugo Park, causing thousands of dollars of damage before stopping his car and blasting music.
He was released after the latest incident after posting a $5000 bond.
On the bright side, at least he was apparently looking at the road and following the speed limit.
