The wife of Church of Scientology leader David Miscavige has been located by the Los Angeles Police Department. Michele “Shelly” Miscavige, who has not been seen by Scientology members or in public since August 2007, recently met with the LAPD, and they have closed the missing person’s case.

This investigation was opened due to the police department receiving multiple calls that the Scientology leader’s wife had not been seen publicly in 6 years. The most-recent report came from actress Leah Remini, who left the Church of Scientology last month.

The LAPD issued the following statement in response to the missing person report: “The LAPD has classified the report as unfounded, indicating that Shelly is not missing.”

Michele, 21, married David, 25, in December 1982, at the time they were both just Commodore’s Messenger Organization members.

David is currently the Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center.
