Nicole Scherzinger says that it’s like pulling teeth to workout at the gym, and one of the reasons is because she does have a lot on her plate. Scherzinger, 38, is currently starring as Grizabella in the revival of Cats in London and hits the stage to perform six days a week, according to the Times of India. But the former Pussycat Doll, who graces the cover of the new issue of Cosmopolitan Body, explains that she’s able to keep her energy up by taking good care of her body.

“[Exercise] changes everything about how I approach my day and helps me go about life with confidence-that’s the main reason I do it. It gives me clarity and makes me feel stronger.”

Nicole explains that it’s not so much for her physical and vanity side of it. Nicole goes to the gym for emotional and the emotional and mental strength it gives her. Nicole also shared her definition of being healthy.

“Healthy for me means a healthy mind, that everything else becomes aligned-the mental, physical, spiritual…everything. Being happy means having balance, being creative and finding peace.”

Nicole Scherzinger’s workout is like pulling teeth now that she’s in her thirties. This comes after years of working out every single day, the Daily Mail reports. She has to make herself workout, a balance that she finds to give her the motivation to hit the gym.

Nicole signed with Interscope Records in 2003 as a member of the Pussycat Dolls, a burlesque troupe turned-recording act. During her time as lead singer, Scherzinger generated controversy concerning the emphasis of her role in the group. She once described that as pulling teeth. The group established themselves as a prominent girl group with the release of their debut album, PCD (2005) which spawned the number one hits “Don’t Cha” and “Stickwitu.” A hiatus saw the cancellation of a solo album.

Known for her strong soprano vocals, Nicole has received critical acclaim by performing songs in onstage performances from musicals such as Rocky Horror Picture Show, Evita, Phantom of the Opera, Rent, and Cats. Throughout a career spanning 13 years, she has sold 16 million records as a solo artist, and a further 54 million with Pussycat Dolls, making the group one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. Since her first chart entry in 2005, Nicole Scherzinger has also scored 20 top 20 hits on the UK Singles Chart.

While Nicole Scherzinger says working out is like pulling teeth at the gym, she has maintained a great shape. She also eats healthy and says that exercise is a requirement, notes Digital Spy. Outside of her work in the entertainment industry, Scherzinger is involved in charitable activities including her work as an ambassador for the Special Olympics.
