Josue Ramirez-Marinero has been missing since Wednesday when his mother was found dead and his brother was found alive in a trash dumpster.

Omaha police said they have reason to believe Josue was thrown into the Elkhorn River. A search is underway right now at a bridge near Highway 275. Family members are at the scene.

The FBI is assisting with the search and investigation as are multiple K9 units. Ambulances and search boats are also at the scene.

Roberto Martinez-Marinero, 25, eventually turned himself into authorities. Omaha police said Roberto was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony in his mother’s death, according to Examiner.

The Amber Alert issued Thursday has been canceled because the vehicle the boy was believed to have been in was found. Police reiterate that the boy is missing and all efforts to find him are still in motion.

The missing boy’s father, Jose Ramirez, is in custody only for being an illegal immigrant, police said.

Jesus Ismenia Marinero, 45, was found dead in Omaha on Wednesday night. Her 11-month-old son was found alive and OK in a trash dumpster.

The man who found the toddler in the dumpster said he was cleaning out his car when he heard a noise.

“I went and looked on the inside the dumpster and I seen a little hand with an empty water bottle moving,” said the man who didn’t want to be identified.

Roberto Martinez-Marinero also had a 5-year-old son, according to investigators. That discovery triggered a Amber Alert in Nebraska until the vehicle in the case was found abandon in the city on Thursday, notes People.

The boy remains missing at this time. He is described as having short, black hair and was last seen wearing a gray shirt and gray sweatpants.
