Jennifer Wilbanks, the Runaway Bride, is in love again. Runaway Bride Jennifer Wilbanks, who made headlines in 2005, has found a new love. Hopefully, Jennifer Wilbanks won’t be runnnig away again like she did in the past.
“Everybody needs someone to love. I’m so glad I have that someone,” Jennifer Wilbanks said in a statement. The new man is 38-year-old Greg Hutson. He might not be looking for a bride because he’s been married and divorced twice.
Wilbanks, 36, made nationwide headlines back in 2005 when she disappeared from Duluth, Georgia just four days prior to her wedding day. It was all an attempt to avoid marrying her fiance, John Mason. This disappearance sparked speculation that Mason had killed her.
On April 29, 2005, Jennifer Wilbanks called Mason from Albuquerque and falsely claimed that she had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a Hispanic male and a white woman. Of course, the “Runaway Bride%u201D made up the entire story. She had actually been at her parent’s house in an attempt to avoid marrying him.
After the truth came out, she was known as the “Runaway Bride%u201D and she went down with a felony indictment for giving false information to the police. She pleaded no contest to this charge. As part of her plea bargain, she was sentenced to two years of probation, 120 hours of community service, and she was also ordered to pay $2,250 in restitution to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department.
Her misdemeanor charge of filing a false police report was dismissed. Her criminal record will be expunged if she successfully completes her period of probation. However, Jennifer Wilbanks is not afraid of new love. She is involved in a serious relationship with a new man. Her ex-fiance, John Mason, married another woman, Shelley Martin, in 2008.
